Today was one of those quiet, slow mornings. I woke up around 9:30 AM β much later than usual. The night had been long, and like most moms, I went to bed later than I should have. But what truly began my 8 month old baby morning routine was the sweetest sound β his little coos.
Thatβs how our day begins almost every day.
He wakes before me, not crying, but softly babbling β as if gently inviting me to start the day with him. I turned toward him, smiled, and we had our usual “masti” moment β full of cuddles, kisses, and tiny giggles.
After a few moments of joy, I changed his diaper and breastfed him. Itβs a simple yet grounding part of our morning β just the two of us, in sync, easing into the day.
π Our Real 8 Month Old Baby Morning Routine
We moved into the living room, where the morning sun gently poured through the windows. I handed him his favorite toys. Like every morning, he played joyfully for 10β20 minutes β long enough for me to breathe and gather myself.
During that time, I:
- Made the bed
- Picked up his scattered toys
- Boiled hot water using the electric kettle
- Sat beside him with my warm cup, watching him explore
These are small things β but they create the rhythm of our 8 month old baby morning routine. Watching him, Iβm reminded that even ordinary moments can be filled with magic.

π Breakfast for Two β Baby Meals I Also Enjoy
Todayβs breakfast was ragi (finger millet) and banana porridge β one of his favorites. I made a bit extra and turned it into a smoothie for myself, blending in banana and some nuts. It was comforting and nourishing, like we were sharing more than just food β we were sharing a moment.
π₯ A Warm, Cozy Lunch Together
Later in the afternoon, I made carrot and beetroot soup for both of us. It was colorful, simple, and warm β perfect for a little baby and his slightly tired mama. I sipped mine slowly while he tasted his with curiosity. Another small moment that felt big.

πΏ Why Iβm Writing This
Iβm not here to offer you a perfect plan or say, βHereβs how you should do it.β
This is just my 8 month old baby morning routine, lived and loved one sleepy step at a time.
Because motherhood is more than just feeding and diapers.
Itβs rediscovering yourself, slowly, gently β through laughter, fatigue, meals, and cuddles.
These days may feel messy or small now, but I know one day Iβll miss them dearly.
